The Active Transportation Alliance is a non-profit advocacy organization that works to improve conditions for bicycling, walking and transit and engage people in healthy and active ways to get around. We work in both Chicago and surrounding suburbs. All proceeds from Kickstand Classic support Active Trans. In addition to Kickstand, we also produce MB Bike the Drive where Lake Shore Dr. in Chicago is closed to car traffic and just open to cyclists! Interested in learning more about our advocacy work in your area? Read on…

The Active Transportation Alliance is launching a new suburban campaign called Bike Walk Every Town to give you the tools and resources you need to build a local campaign to improve walking and biking in your community. Active Trans will be hosting a series of kick-off summits across the region, including in the Northwest suburbs on Saturday, October 21 at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts.  You can register for free here – lunch is included.
